It works great indoors, is weather proof for outdoor use, and is shock resistant.

This camera works in areas with zero light, low light and sunlight.
The camera has small LED lights mounted around the lense. When in total darkness or very low light conditions occurs it automatically turns on these LEDS providing enough light so that the camera works. The leds only appear to glow and are hardly noticable. But, they produce enough light to make the camera work.

Don't be fooled by other night vision cameras. The housings on these cameras all look the same because the manufactures all use similar housing. The differences in cameras is primarely a function of the chip, not the shape or look.
